September 2009 and has come and gone. And we’ve had the mastered versions of The Beatles‘ catalog for a while now.
My recession-hit pockets can only afford to buy five albums right now — Revolver, The White Album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Rubber Soul and Abbey Road. But let me tell you these are all worth the price. More »

I’m on the constant lookout for fresh music. And when I mean fresh, I mean music that’s not played ad nauseum on MTV — besides I don’t consider majority of what’s played on that channel as music anyway, most of it just manufactured merchandising crap. One band I stumbled upon almost four years ago was Fujiya and Miyagi. Though I’m not surprised. When it comes to The Flaming Lips, you should expect the unexpected — just look at their album Zaireeka. More »
I’ll start off this series of articles on my list of the best albums to be released this year. I can say that 2009 is a relatively good year for music. There has been a steady release of interesting albums from a wide range of artists that straddle various genre.
Personally, my vote for best album of 2009 goes to The Antlers’ Hospice. More »
The Strokes has not released a new album since 2006’s First Impressions of Earth, and even with the band announcing in different online and print publications this year that they are ready to record material for their fourth album, no firm release date has been set. More »
I first heard of Death Cab for Cutie in the late 90’s and for a long time the band was one of my best kept secrets. I took a lot of pleasure from listening to a band that, at the time, not a lot of people knew.
Oh, but times have changed. More »
