Smashing Pumpkins finds new drummer

It’s finally confirmed.

Billy Corgan has finally found a replacement drummer for The Smashing Pumpkins. A few months ago long-time drummer (and only other original Pumpkins member) Jimmy Chamberlin left the band to pursue other things. The amicable split with Corgan has of course resulted in Corgan auditioning for a new drummer. And he has finally found Chamberlin’s replacement in a young drummer.

Nineteen year old Mike Byrne has been officially revealed as the new Pumpkins drummer and Corgan is reportedly already working on a new album with him. We all know that Corgan only needs a drummer to work on Pumpkins material, something he has been doing since the Gish days.
